The Call of Duty Mobile release date is approaching, and now you can start to get hyped about the Call of Duty Mobile beta that will allow you to try out the free Call of Duty game that is coming to the iPhone, iPad and Android.

This is what you need to know about the Call of Duty Mobile beta, what you will get in the game and more information about what you actually get to do in Call of Duty Mobile when it arrives later this year. Here’s more on the 2019 Call of Duty for PC, Xbox One and PS4.

The Call of Duty Mobile beta starts this week, but it’s going to be a little while longer before you can try it out in the U.S. and most of the world. Here’s what we know about the release date and other details in the game.

The Call of Duty Mobile beta starts this week in India. The beta will continue a rollout into Australia soon after. From there it will come to other regions, including at some point the U.S. and North America.

Unfortunately, Activation doesn’t share any further information about the Call of Duty Mobile beta release date in the U.S., but you can prepare yourself for the beta right now.

Sign Up for the Call of Duty Mobile Beta

While you don’t have a specific release date in the U.S., you can sign up for the Call of Duty Mobile beta so that you are sure to get in as soon as they open it up. You can sign up on the Call of Duty website or direct in Google Play. We expect to see a pre-register option on the App Store soon.

To register, you need to share your email, create a password, pick a region and enter your birthday. We’ll let you know if there is any way to sign up for the beta in another region for early access.

What is Call of Duty Mobile?

Call of Duty Mobile is a free to play Call of Duty game for the iPhone, iPad and Android which combines the multiple Call of Duty worlds into one online multiplayer experience. This includes parts of Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare as well as others.

This is an online game with a variety of game modes that you are used to in traditional call of duty games. You can connect with friends using in game text and chat. Activation offers simple and advanced controls, but there is no mention of controller support.

You’ll get a variety of loadouts, scorestreaks and players to choose from. This is not a battle royale game like Fortnite Battle Royale or PUBG Mobile.

Call of Duty Mobile Device Compatibility

You can play the Call of Duty Mobile beta on high end devices, but Activision is working to bring it to many different devices.

Activation says that they are, “working every day both to optimize the game for high-end phones and to make it broadly accessible for as many other devices as well.” They don’t specify which devices this will and won’t work for, but you can expect that it will run on the latest iPhones, iPads and Android devices without problems.

It will get less likely on older phones and on devices like the Amazon Fire 7 tablet, which doesn’t have Google Play.

Call of Duty Mobile Maps & Modes

We know a lot about the Call of Duty Mobile maps and a little bit about the modes that you will get to play. This is exciting for players that remember playing classic Call of Duty maps like Nuke town, since they will now be able to play on their phone or tablet. In addition to Nuke Town, Crash and Hijacked the following maps are part of the first beta and the coming game.

Crossfire: “Small desert town. Intense interior fighting and strong firefights.” Bring your sniper rifle in this compact street fight; the Call of Duty® 4: Modern Warfare map is revisited, with cramped and confined structures (where shotguns are a good choice) are flanked by two taller buildings at each end of this Z-shaped thoroughfare.

Standoff: “Border town between China and Kyrgyzstan. Classic engagements and destinations to fight over.”Also known to Black Ops III fans as Outlaw, this map which originally debuted in Black Ops II offers a variety of tight hiding spots, upper structures that favor the long-range weapon wrangler, and a main compound with a walled perimeter to infiltrate in a variety of game play styles.

Crash: “Downed Sea Knight in a desert town. Fantastic team games.” A classic Call of Duty® 4: Modern Warfare map, this well-loved map features blind corners, a crashed chopper, rusty barrels, narrow streets overlooked by shelled-out buildings as well as rooftop sniping positions. Expect quick and deadly action during Multiplayer matches here.

Killhouse: “Speedball style warehouse interior. Great for small teams.” If you’re wanting an almost symmetrical map with a central lookout tower, and have a penchant for rapid takedowns where shotguns can take precedence, practice on Call of Duty® 4: Modern Warfare’s Killhouse. This warehouse offers multiple wooden and concrete hiding spots, and almost constant action.

Firing Range: “Military practice facility. Hectic Domination games.” Journey to Cuba in this reworking of an original Black Ops map, seen most recently in Black Ops 4. Corrugated and wooden sheds, long, ruined structures, a muddy courtyard and rusting equipment, abandoned in the hot sun, make this a classic and chaotic map.

What you need to know about the Call of Duty beta maps and game modes.

The Call of Duty Mobile game modes will support eight to 10 players depending on the type of game. Here are the modes;

Free-For-All (8): The classic every-player-for-themselves death-match.

Front-line (10): After spawning at a team base, defeat players on the opposing team.

Team Death-match (10): The classic defeat-players-on-the-opposing-team mode.

Hard-point (10): Capture and hold the hard-point to earn points.

Domination (10): Capture and hold the designated positions to gain points

It’s possible that we will see additional modes come in the near future, but there is no timing and no mention of a hardcore mode.
